According to some authoritative sites, the average day temperature throughout the year in Khao Yai National Park
is around 23 degrees Celsius. It makes no wonder that, for those who have known the place, a good golf vacation in Khao
Yai is not only a pleasant experience but also a great escape from the busy and much polluted Bangkok. Khao Yai
is a world apart from the better known golf destinations in the other parts of Thailand. In fact surrounding the
park proper, there are numerous golf clubs and resorts, some with championship level golf courses. The courses
are all set amidst breathtaking surroundings.
The National Park is Thailand's oldest and second largest covering an area of more than 21 hectares. It lies mainly in Korat (Nakhon Ratchasima Province), but also includes parts of Saraburi, Prachinburi and Nakhon Nayok provinces.
The natural environment of thickly forested hillsides, rushing streams, and cascading waterfalls provides a haven for golfers and numerous species of wildlife (Not necessarily in that order though!). For its unique natural character, Khao Yai has recently been named a World Heritage site.
Only 2 hours' drive north-east of Bangkok on well maintained super-highway, golfing in Khao Yai could well be a surprise for many, even some long-time resident as well. Check it out!
